This article will show you how to utilize CivicReady as a Send Notification action.
After choosing CivicReady as an action and selecting your credentials, you can choose whether you want to send a notification or take action on a subscriber.
If you choose Subscriber, there will be an additional field to choose what type of action to make. Currently, there is only the option to Create a Subscriber, but other options will be available in the future.
Step 2 for CivicReady Send Notification Action
There are three groups of fields to configure for Sending a CivicReady notification.
- Notification Options
- Send To Options
- Message Options
The first set of options is the Notification Options, which lets you specify what channel(s) to send the notification with.
These options are all autocomplete dropdowns, and one of them must be changed to either “Yes” or one of the “From Trigger” options. The “From Trigger” options allow you to set this field based on the data provided in your Trigger. This makes most sense if there is a field in the trigger that has the same options as the field in the action (i.e. a field in your HCMS content type or CivicEngage module that is a yes/no option).
Send To Options
The second group of options is the Send To Options, where you define who the notification should get sent to. None of these fields are required, though it is recommended that you choose at least one Group.
In the “Groups to Send To” dropdown, the first items listed will be your CivicReady groups. Choosing one or more of these options will add the subscribers created through this integration to each of the chosen groups. After your CivicReady groups, you’ll see options that start with “From Trigger”. These options allow you to set this field based on the data provided in your Trigger. This makes most sense if there is a field in the trigger that has the same options as the field in the action (i.e. a field in your HCMS content type that matches the group names in CivicReady, or if your Notify Me categories match the group names in CivicReady).
You can also send the notification to email addresses or usernames. The options in this autocomplete dropdown are the “From Trigger” that allows you to define this field based on the data provided in your trigger. These options make the most sense if your trigger has a corresponding field for email address or username.
In the Message Options section are the custom text input fields, where you can type and/or use the chips. Subject, Body, and From Email are required items and need to be filled out before moving to the next section.
